November is Movember! Growing Mustaches for a Worthy Cause at Aesthetic Smiles of New Jersey

stach1Have you noticed more mustaches on the faces of the men around you lately? It may be because this month is “Movember”! In 2003, the Movember Foundation was formed to raise awareness for men’s health issues such as testicular cancer and prostate cancer. In order to draw some attention to their cause, Movember asked that people avoid shaving and let their facial grow for the entire month of November. The idea is: by changing your appearance you can start a conversation about why you’re growing a mustache, leading to a discussion about men’s health.

The Movember Foundation began with just 30 “Mo Bros” 12 years ago and now has more than five million “Mo Bros” and “Mo Sistas”. Today, the group focuses on improving four of the biggest health issues among men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health, and poor physical activity. Movember has raised $650 million dollars and has funded over 1,000 diverse projects, both local and international, dedicated to the improvement of men’s health. It is truly a global phenomenon and Aesthetic Smiles of New Jersey is very proud to be helping out such a worthy cause. Both men and women can participate, and don’t worry if you have difficulties growing out a rockin’ mustache – you can still donate and encourage others to grow their facial hair and get people talking.

We invite you to visit our practice’s page on Movember’s website at https://us.movember.com/team/2068501. There you will find out how you can support our team’s efforts for the Movember Foundation. Also, feel free to look around the site to learn more about their programs, values, and history. Movember is committed to reporting on every one of the initiatives it funds so donors can see the effects of their contributions.

Our entire dental team looks forward to seeing the mustachioed results at the end of Movember, and we are very excited to be doing our part!
